Its Friday! And its pay day at work but there’s another pay day on the horizon, race day on Sunday. This is the day where you get to test yourself physically and mentally and see the results of your training.
I know that it will be a gratifying feeling crossing the finish line on Sunday especially since its Father’s Day. Memphis and my dad will be waiting on the other side with camera and coffee in tow. My mom will be preparing the celebratory glass of champagne and probably some ice for my tired legs.
However Sunday is certainly not the end of the road. In fact, next Monday our training ramps up in intensity and distance. I am just under 3 months away from The Nation’s Triathlon and 1/3 of the way to my fundraising goal of $3,500! I have officially surpassed the amount required at re-commitment time so thank you, thank you, thank you to all of my donors.
I hope each one of you has a great Father’s Day, whether they may be in your life or not. It is a wonderful thing to honor someone who has been a father-like figure in one’s life as well.
Race results will be posted on www.dadsdaytri.com
I will try to post some pictures before and after the race using my iPhone.
Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger, but it won’t taste good. ~Joe Paterno
